Hi Everyone,

I picked up a 2003 VS800 last Thursday and have ridden about 360 miles getting it home (I was away on holiday so it was about 125 picking it up, then the remainder on Saturday coming home).

I haven't ridden a cruiser before (my other bike is a Honda Blackbird), so I was a bit apprehensive about the long ride , but after finding where the pegs were (I went for the side stand first time and stalled it  ) I had a great ride and am really enjoying it!

It needs a few things doing (don't they all);
The steering lock key turns, but it will not push in so I'm hoping some plus gas might sort this... 
The exhaust chrome is good, but the end plates by the baffles are rusty and holed in a few places, so I'm looking at my options without spending a fortune, possibly fabricating a new end plate to go over the existing one.

Spraying contact cleaner on the horn switch has sorted the horn out, so that was a nice easy fix   .

I'm hoping to take it on another longish run in a couple of weeks time.
