| I want to replace my '97 VZ800 rattlers for an aftermarket full exhaust system. I'd really like to find pipes specifically for the 97-98 bike. I've read the '99-'04 pipes will work if you take out the tool kit. By looking at the route the front pipe runs, I'm concerned about the pipe being next to my left leg. It seems too close for liking. I'm in the US and I can't seem to find any 97-98 specific aftermarket pipes. Actually, there is one set of pipes on eBay, but they are used, scratched and rusty drag pipes. http://ebay.com/itm/251961409414 Not quite what I want, but they're better than nothing. Maybe I can clean them up. Does anyone know where to find 97-98 specific aftermarket pipes? Thanks! | |

| Hello GavsDad, Yes you can make later pipes fit by removing the tool holder and a cover on the left side but I am surprised you cannot find an exhaust system for your year/bike,, the earlier exhausts were always cheaper than the later pipes and readily available,,, I have ordered 3 sets from the states in the past. Cobra, Vance and Hines, and Jardine I believe still do exhausts,

and I think Hard Krome still do stripper pipes for your bike.
Hope this is of some help mate. | |
