| Hi
Just fitted an LED combined tail/brake/indicator unit at the rear & fitted a 7 pin LED flasher relay (thought about resistors, but as I'm planning on doing some major changes later, decided against them).
The problem is that the indicators work as they should until I start the bike up, then they stop completely. M & P sent me a replacement - slightly better, they worked as long as I had the headlights on & didn't actually rev the bike!
Has anyone fitted a relay? If they have, did they experience this problem? I'm trying to work out whether it's an issue on just my bike, or the model. If you've managed to fit them without a problem, where did you get the relay from.
This is on a 2001 Volusia 800.
Many thanks for looking

| I know nothing about electrics but to me it sounds like a dodgy relay unless you had the same problem with the first lights they sent you. Does seem strange that the voltage change that comes from revving the bike or having the lights on can make a difference to if they work or not but I don't know how the relays work | |

| Sorry - I should had worded it clearer. The indicators are fine, it's the relays that's the issue. So far I've tried two from M&P, both have caused problems. So I'm assuming that it's probably that this brand of relay (ai - part number 714175) that's not compatible with my bike. Just wondering if anyone else had similar problems, or if not, what brand of relay they used.
Sorry for the confusion

| Sent the two back to M&P & ordered from Biker-Discount http://www.biker-discount.co.uk/flash-rate-fix-suzuki-led-indicators-7-pin-led-relay-1486-p.asp The build quality was far superior to the M&P units, the pins lined up perfectly & it works exactly as it should. So I now have a pair of fully functioning LED indicators at the rear " /> | |

| Thats fantastic, I'm glad the first thoughts were right and that a bad unit was to blame. Bloody annoying that you were sent a crap unit that was then replaced by another crap unit after wards but we live and learn and if someone else has a similar problem we will have a point of reference. Thanks for keeping us updated & well done for getting to the bottom of it | |

| Chuffed you sorted out the incompetence of others, well done. On your rear end very clean & well done. Very much like the replacement peg & foot controls. | |
